Mrs. Raida DAOUK

Mrs. Raida Daouk is the Founder and Managing Partner of Amkan Ventures, a fund of funds backing emerging U.S. solo managers. Amkan is the first vehicle of its kind from the MENA region and one of the few globally dedicated to this investment thesis.
Mrs. Daouk honed her craft at Amkan Advisory, a boutique consultancy she founded to guide family offices on venture strategy and fund allocations, after learning the ropes at BY Venture Partners, where she began her career in venture investing. Earlier in her career, she worked at Fransabank, gaining a strong foundation in banking and financial analysis.
Mrs. Raida serves on the Selection Committees of RAISE Global and is an active member of Endeavor Lebanon, where she supports high-impact entrepreneurs and emerging investors.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut and a Master’s in Economics and Strategy for Business from Imperial College London.


Mr. Nadim KASSAR
DELEGATED BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Nadim Kassar serves as Delegated Board Member of Fransabank SAL and BLC Bank SAL as of June 2025.

He previously held the positions of Chairman and General Manager of Fransabank SAL for three years starting July 2022, and Chairman and General Manager of BLC Bank SAL for seven years beginning June 2018, leading both institutions through phases of expansion and digital transformation. As Founder of Fransabank El Djazaïr SPA, he chaired its Board of Directors from 2006 until 2024 and continues to serve as a Board Member.

Mr. Kassar was elected Vice Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) in 2019 and has since been re-elected for four consecutive mandates. He has also served on the ABL Board since 2001. In 2025, he was appointed Member of the Mastercard EEMEA Advisory Board, having previously served as its Co-Chairman from 2019 to 2025, and held leadership roles on Mastercard’s APMEA Regional Board of Directors from 2005 until 2019.

He also serves on the Boards of NetCommerce, Interbank Payment Network (IPN) SAL, and Credit Card Management (CCM), and is the Founder and a Board Member of the American Lebanese Chamber of Commerce (ALCC). Mr. Kassar is a member of Lebanese International Finance Executives (LIFE), where he served on the Board from 2009 to 2020. He represents Fransabank SAL as a founding member of the China Arab Countries Interbank Association (CACIA). In addition, he serves as General Manager of A.A. Kassar SAL.

Mr. Kassar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut (AUB).


FRANSABANK SAL represented by Mr. Adel KASSAR
Board Member

Mr. Adel Kassar is a veteran Lebanese banker whose career in finance spans more than seven decades. He serves as Honorary Chairman of Fransabank Group and Board Member of Fransabank (France) SA, where he continues to play a guiding role in the Group’s strategic direction and international relationships.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Kassar has contributed to shaping the Lebanese banking sector and strengthening Fransabank’s position as one of the country’s most established financial institutions. He was instrumental in the restructuring and expansion of Fransabank Group in the early 1980s, helping modernize its operations and extend its regional footprint.
He is also Chairman and General Manager of Bancassurance SAL and the Lebanese Leasing Company SAL, and serves on the Board of BLC Bank SAL. Previously, he chaired the Association of Banks in Lebanon, and since 1991 has served as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Hungary in Lebanon, a role that underscores his longstanding contribution to fostering international economic ties.
Mr. Kassar holds a degree in Lebanese and French Law from Université Saint Joseph, affiliated with the Faculty of Law of Lyon (France).


H.E. Me. Walid Daouk, Esq.
Board Member

H.E. Me. Walid Daouk, Esq. is a senior legal professional specializing in commercial, civil, corporate, and property law. He began his career in 1981 at Takla & Trad Law Firm, where he later became Managing Partner.
He has held several prominent positions, including Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Commission at the Beirut Bar Association and Member of the Arbitration Commission. He also served as Minister of Information and interim Minister of Justice in Lebanon before resuming his private practice at Takla & Trad, where he advises multinational and Lebanese companies across diverse sectors.
Mr. Daouk serves on the Boards of several leading financial and real estate institutions, including Fransabank SAL, Banque Libanaise pour le Commerce SAL, Bancassurance SAL, Beirut Waterfront Development SAL, and Tourism and Hotel Development Company SAL, among others. He is also a Board Member of Fransabank (France) SA and Fransabank El Djazaïr SPA. He was also a member of the Board of the Council for Development and Reconstruction of Lebanon (CDR)
Deeply committed to education and social causes, Mr. Daouk is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Saint Joseph University and serves on the Board of Trustees. He serves also on the Board of International College, Ajialouna, and the Social Welfare Association, reflecting his longstanding dedication to civic and community development.
He holds a degree in Lebanese and French Law from Saint Joseph University, Beirut, and pursued Business Management studies at Beirut University College.


H.E. Mr. Mansour BTEISH
Board Member

H.E. Mr. Mansour Bteish is the CEO of Fransabank SAL and its subsidiary BLC Bank SAL. His career at the Bank spans over 4 decades. He joined Fransabank in 1974 where he held over time various management positions, becoming General Manager from 2005 until February 2019, when he was appointed Minister of Economy and Trade in Lebanon. Mr. Bteish joined back the Bank in November 2024.
As Minister of Economy and Trade, Mr. Bteish was known to stand for a national macro-economic stance that calls for the development of a socially inclusive, productive, competitive, and environmentally friendly economy.
He published social and economic analyses and proposals in the form of books and articles, on topics such as Economic impact of Electricity sector in Lebanon, Public Finance, Monetary Policy, Decentralization model, and more.
Born in 1954, Mr. Bteish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Money and Banking from Université Saint Joseph, Beirut.


H.E. Mr. Nazem EL KHOURY
Board Member

H.E. Mr. Nazem El Khoury is a Lebanese public figure and businessman with extensive experience across government, finance, and social development. He served as a Member of Parliament, Political Advisor to the President of the Republic of Lebanon, and Minister of Environment, and also coordinated the Steering Committee for the National Dialogue.
In the private sector, he is Chairman of the Tourism and Hotel Development Company SAL and Chairman of BLC Services SAL, both part of Fransabank Group.
Mr. El Khoury has been actively engaged in education and social welfare, serving on the Boards of Trustees of the Lebanese American University, YMCA, and Notre Dame University, and holding leadership roles within the Lebanese Cooperative for Development, the Lebanese Red Cross, and Caritas Lebanon.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the American University of Beirut and a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in London.


Mr. Nabil KASSAR
Board Member

With over two decades of experience in International Banking and Finance, Mr. Kassar currently serves as the Chairman of Fransabank SAL.
He previously held the position of Chairman General Manager of Fransa Invest Bank SAL (the investment arm of Fransabank SAL) as well as former Vice-Chairman of BLC Bank SAL, where he played a key role in strategic development and financial leadership.

Mr. Kassar also represents Fransabank SAL as a Board Representative at Fransabank France SA and Fransabank El Djazaïr SPA, and sits at the Board of Directors of BLC Bank SAL. He serves as a substitute member during the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) meetings, contributing his insights to the country's banking policies and practices.

In addition to his banking roles, Mr. Kassar is Chairman of Fransa Land SAL, A.A. Kassar SAL (Holding), a Member of the Board of Directors of K One (Holding) SAL, Bancassurance SAL, B7/700 Ain Mreisseh SAL, a Shareholder of A.A. Kassar SAL (Offshore), BLC Services SAL, Château Ksara SAL, A.A. Kassar SAL, Narlco SAL, Belair Real Estate SAL, Tourism and Hotel Development Company SAL, Port Society 1574 SAL, reflecting his active involvement in Lebanon's broader economic and investment landscape.

Mr. Nabil Kassar, born in 1970, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Saint Joseph University.


Mr. Gerges BAZ
Board Member

Mr. Gerges Baz is a seasoned banking executive with extensive experience in risk management, commercial lending, recovery, real estate, and legal affairs. He has held several senior leadership roles, including Assistant General Manager at the Bank, overseeing key strategic and operational functions.

He has served on multiple governance committees—Credit, Risk, Recovery, Assets and Liabilities, and Compliance—and has played a key role in strengthening the bank’s institutional framework.


Mr. Henri DE COURTIVRON
Board Member

Mr. Henri de Courtivron is a senior finance professional with over forty years of international experience in banking and management. He began his career at Indosuez Bank, where he held leadership roles across Singapore, London, and Saudi Arabia, before returning to the bank’s head office in Paris.

He later served as General Manager of Fransabank (France) SA, and currently sits on its Board. He is also a Board member of Fransabank (SAL) and of Investment and Credit Bank (ICB) in Tajikistan. In 2015, he was elected Consular Judge at the Paris Commercial Court, where he continues to contribute his financial expertise to commercial and regulatory matters.

Mr. de Courtivron holds a degree in Economic Sciences from Paris X University and a graduate diploma from École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris.


Mr. Sarkis D. YOGHOURTDJIAN
Board Member

Mr. Sarkis Yoghourtdjian began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, later joining the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C., where he became Assistant Director for Banking Supervision and later Advisor to the Board.
Mr. Yoghourtdjian went on to serve as Senior Advisor at The Financial Integrity Network (FIN)—later K2 Integrity—and advised leading institutions including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the Bank for International Settlements’ Financial Stability Institute. He previously worked at Bank One and taught at Gateway College in Wisconsin.
He has also held leadership roles with the APEC Financial Regulators’ Initiative, the Middle East and North Africa Financial Regulators’ Initiative, and the Toronto Leadership Center’s Banking Advisory Board.
Mr. Yoghourtdjian has received multiple international honors, including the University of Wisconsin’s Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, the Federal Reserve Board’s Special Achievement Award, and the Highest Medal of Honor bestowed by the President of the Republic of Armenia for his notable services in the establishment and modernization of the Central Bank of Armenia. He is also the first non-Arab recipient of the Union of Arab Banks’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
He holds a BS – Business Management from University of Wisconsin.
